Tiger Woods Burns John Daly for Using a Cart: 'I Walked with a Broken Leg'

Tiger Woods has had an extensive layoff since winning his victory at The Masters, but with questions swirling about whether Tiger will be rested or rusted before this week’s PGA Championship, the 15-time major winner showed that he is feeling quite game.

On Tuesday, Woods was asked for his thoughts about fellow golfer John Daly receiving a waiver which would allow him to use a cart during competition at Bethpage Black. Daly suffers from arthritis and wouldn’t be able to walk the course without it.

Woods however, was not impressed.

“As far as JD taking a cart, well,” Woods said. “I walked with a broken leg, so.”

Watch:

Woods is referring to the famous incident in 2008 when he won the U.S. Open with stress fractures to his tibia, and only two days before ACL surgery.

Daly maintains that his condition requires use of a cart.

“My knee is screwed,” Daly said. “I had the meniscus cut out. I have osteoarthritis so bad. … I can walk up a hill. I just can’t walk down one.”

Many golfers oppose the use of carts, believing that not having to walk the course will put the rest of the field at a competitive disadvantage.
